Becoming a member of the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association means that you are joining a group of leaders in New Hampshire’s legal community who are committed to gender equality. There are many benefits to being a member—here are just a few:

Connect to Leaders in the New Hampshire Bar. The New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association is an open and welcoming group of attorneys from all practice areas. Our events are a unique opportunity to meet, connect, and develop relationships with a diverse group of attorneys committed to equality in the practice of law.

Participate in Meaningful Service Opportunities. As members of the New Hampshire Bar, our members have a unique opportunity serve our community. The New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association service projects, like its award-winning Women to Women project, help our members make a big impact.

Stay Informed. Our e-mail blasts ensure all of our members are informed about issues important to gender equality and upcoming social, education, and advocacy opportunities. Be the first to know about our many popular events including our Annual Fall Reception, Annual Stress-Relief Retreat, and monthly Book Club.

If you have questions about member benefits, or would like more information about joining the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association, please e-mail info@nhwba.org.

Who Can Join?

Regular "voting" membership is open to any person who is:

  • A member of the bar of the State of New Hampshire or
  • A member of the bar admitted to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or district and who actively works in the legal profession and resides or works in New Hampshire.
A regular member does not need to be on “active” status with the bar, but cannot have resigned or been disbarred.

Associate "non-voting" membership is open to any member of the bar admitted to practice, who has not resigned or been disbarred, in any U.S. state, territory, or district, or in any foreign country. In addition, any law student or paralegal may become an associate member.

Honorary membership is open to any member of the New Hampshire state or federal judiciary, including retired members of the judiciary, and other important members of the New Hampshire legal community, as determined by the Board. Honorary members are non-voting members and are not required to pay dues.

Sustaining membership is open to any NHWBA member.  Sustaining membership recognizes members who have generously supported the growth and success of the NHWBA.  Their annual membership fees and donations contribute greatly to the organization.  The NHWBA recognizes the generosity of sustaining members in various ways, including hosting sustaining members appreciation events.
