Have you ever thought about how to become a judge or would like to learn more about the judicial selection process? We are hosting a program on just that! We will be joined by Attorney Mary Tenn, Chair of the New Hampshire Judicial Selection Commission and a panel of judges from the state and federal courts in New Hampshire. The panel will discuss both the state and federal judicial selection processes and provide advice for potential applicants.

    Moderated by Emily Gray Rice

    Speakers:

    • Chief Judge Landya B. McCafferty, US District Court for the District of NH
    • Associate Justice Melissa Countway, NH Supreme Court
    • Hon. Anne M. Edwards, NH Superior Court
    • Hon. Amy Manchester, NH Circuit Court
    • Attorney Mary Tenn, Chair, Judicial Selection Commission

*This program is expected to be an estimated 120 minutes of General CLE credit.

Please note: NHWBA believes our CLEs meet the requirements of NH Supreme Court Rule 53 and that this CLE may qualify for up to 120 minutes toward the annual NHMCLE requirement. NHMCLE does not preapprove or accredit CLEs. Attendees must self-determine whether a program is eligible for credit, and self-report their attendance.

Our Annual Retreat is a not-to-be-missed, overnight event! The Annual Retreat involves opportunities to connect with attorneys from firms and organizations across the state, to receive continuing legal education ("CLE") credit, and to relax at the beautiful Wentworth By The Sea - in New Castle New Hampshire. NH's oldest seaside resort and event facility on the state's captivating seacoast.

The 2026 event will take place on March 20 and 21, 2026 at the Wentworth By The Sea, 588 Wentworth Road, New Castle, NH 03854.

It includes networking, a cocktail reception followed by a private dinner and evening activities on Friday, and breakfast, a wellness activity and networking/mentorship opportunities on Saturday morning. We will also have a CLE over the weekend.

We look forward to sharing more about the events and activities planned for the weekend, including informal meet-ups and chances to enjoy the Seacoast together, as our Networking Committee continues to plan for the 2026 Annual Retreat.
