We will be meeting to discuss Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson.

Please RSVP to Caroline Leonard if you are interested.

Just Mercy is a criminal justice nonfiction work that Bryan Stevenson wrote about his younger lawyer days and his role in founding the Equal Justice Initiative. EJI is a private, nonprofit that challenges poverty and racial injustice, advocates for equal treatment in the criminal justice system, and creates hope for marginalized communities. One of the first cases Attorney Stevenson handled involved a young man who was sentenced to die for a murder the defendant insisted he did not commit. The book has been #1 on the NYT bestseller list, and named one of the best books of the year by the Post, the Globe, Esquire, Time, The Seattle Times, and the New York Times.

We have not yet set dates for future book club meetings, but these are the books we'll be reading each month.
