120 Minute 2023 Legislative Preview CLE

Have questions about how a bill becomes a law and how you can become involved? Want to know what is happening at this session that might impact your practice or the New Hampshire Bar? Purchase this CLE to learn how to get involved in the legislative session, learn about specific bills affecting legal practice, and specific bills affecting areas such as education law, health and human services law, and family law. Panelists and presentations will include: Rebecca Woitkowski, Esq., Kids Count Policy Director, New Futures: Rebecca's presentation will focus on childcare legislation and the New Hampshire "Mom-nibus" bill. Diana Fenton, Esq., Office of Governance, New Hampshire Department of Education: Diana will present about education-based bills (there are over 130!) currently being discussed at the State House. Emma Sevigny, Esq. Children’s Behavioral Health Policy Coordinator, New Futures Emma will present on the upcoming priority bills that affect NH’s children’s system of care. As children’s behavioral health policy coordinator, her goal is to support and strengthen a comprehensive and integrated System of Care for children and youth who experience behavioral health challenges in New Hampshire. Nicole A. Forbes, Esq., Attorney, Orr & Reno, P.A. Nicole Forbes, a family law lawyer at Orr & Reno, will be discussing pending legislation in the area of family law, including proposed revisions to the definition of abuse for domestic violence. John L. Williams, Esq., Director of Legislative Affairs, New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services and Courtney Gray Tanner, Esq., Director of Government Relations, Dartmouth Health John and Courtney’s presentation will involve a review of key legislation regarding access and delivery of health care including Medicaid expansion reauthorization.
