Runners, joggers, and walkers, rejoice! We are getting active in 2026 with our Running Club.

Join the NHWBA's Networking Committee for our 2026 Running Club. This group is designed for runners/joggers/walkers of all skill and experience levels.

New to running? That's great! Been a runner since middle school? Amazing! Do you want to walk and talk with friends in the NHWBA on a Saturday morning? Welcome!

The Saturday, May 2, 2026 meet-up will start at Cup of Joe, 31 Market St., Portsmouth, NH at 9:00 A.M.

The plan is for attendees to join us at the scheduled location/time and then we will break into groups based on desired distances and routes. Once the route is complete, we will return at the starting location to enjoy the company of our fellow attendees with warm beverages and conversation (ps: you could also just sign up to hang out at the coffeeshop/cafe, if you so please).

Towards the end of the year, our Running Club will come together to have a team at the Campaign For Legal Services Annual Walk and Run for Justice in Manchester in September.

This specific sign up is for our May 2, 2026 meet-up. Sign-ups for future meet-ups are coming soon!

Please contact our Networking Chair, Katie A. Mosher, with any questions. Katie will be the point-of-contact for this event.

Embodied Leadership: Why How You Lead Matters as Much as What You Do

Most leadership development in the legal profession focuses on skills, strategies, and execution. Yet under pressure, leadership effectiveness is often determined less by what a leader does and more by how she shows up.

This session introduces Embodied Leadership -  a practical framework for understanding how presence, self-regulation, and internal alignment shape judgment, communication, and influence. Attendees will explore the distinction between management and leadership, learn five core dimensions of embodied leadership, and walk away with concrete ways to lead with greater authority, clarity, and sustainability in high-stakes legal environments.

    Speaker Bio
Vanessa Shaw is a business strategist, speaker, and the founder of The Business Growth Academy, where she works with women-owned law firms to build profitable, sustainable practices without burnout.

With an international background spanning the USA, UK, and Europe, Vanessa brings a global perspective to leadership and performance. Her early work included coaching and consulting for organizations such as the United Nations, World Economic Forum, KPMG, Oracle, and the international law firm Cameron McKenna (CMS), where she pioneered the firm’s first cross-border virtual coaching program for attorneys across 10 countries.

Today, Vanessa is known for helping women attorneys strengthen decision-making, leadership presence, and firm economics so they can lead with confidence and intention. Her work focuses on moving firm owners from high-performing operators to effective, sustainable leaders.
