  • Communication Styles Workshop

    How well you communicate can influence how others view your work, your performance and your prospects for career mobility. Because we all communicate differently, it is important to understand the variations in style and learn new ways to communicate with others that will ensure productive and effective working relationships. In this course, you will be able to identify your own personal communication style using the Boost methodology while learning how to maximize your strengths and remedy areas that need improvement. The Benefits: * Improve power of persuasion and influence; awareness of body language and non-verbal signals. * Identify personal communication barriers and develop strategies to avoid misunderstandings and overcome difficult situations. * Develop critical listening skills and learn about your own listening behavior and responding style. The Results: * Positive interactions and productive relationships with peers and colleagues * Confidently express ideas and solutions while disarming those with different viewpoints. When you gain an understanding of how your personal communication style is perceived by others, you can learn to tailor your behavior to create positive and productive relationships in the workplace.   • Annual Fall Reception

    On October 28, 2010, the NHWBA will be holding its 13th annual Fall Reception at The Centennial in Concord. The reception will include the presentation of the 2010 Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award, which honors an outstanding women lawyer in New Hampshire who has achieved professional excellence or paved the way to success for other women lawyers, advanced opportunities for women in the profession, or performed exemplary public service on behalf of women. The NHWBA will also introduce the 2010-11 recipient of the Winnie McLaughlin scholarship, which is awarded annually to a female Pierce Law student in partnership with Pierce Law. Join us for a night of recognition of the achievements of our members and award recipients, as well as a night of networking with our members. The reception is from 5:30-7:30p.m. and is open to the public. No RSVP is required. Hors d’Oeuvres and cocktails will be provided. Cocktails are sponsored by Abramson, Brown & Dugan, P.A.

    Celebration honoring retiring Superior Court Justices: The Honorable William J. Groff, the Honorable Philip P. Mangones, and the Honorable James J. Barry.

    Cocktails (Cash Bar) will begin at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with a program immediately following dinner. Cost is $50 per person.

  • NHWBA Annual Golf Clinic for Beginners

    It’s Back for Summer! The New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association invites you to participate in our Annual Golf Clinic When: Four consecutive Wednesday nights beginning July 14 and ending August 4. Lessons start at 6:00 pm. Where: Lessons 1 & 2 at Legends Golf in Hooksett located at 18 Legends Drive, Hooksett, NH 03106-1855. Lessons 3 & 4 at the Derryfield Country Club in Manchester located at 625 Mammoth Road, Manchester, NH 03104. What: Golf pro Ian Williken of the Derryfield Country Club will work with participants on the basics of hitting with woods and irons and putting. The final lesson includes a scramble at the Derryfield Country Club. Learn the basics with us and be ready to play in the Quid Pro Bono Golf Tournament to benefit the NH Pro Bono Referral Program on August 12th!
